Subject: Found Something that works!

Believe it or not, I found something that healed my very deep fissure. I had had it for almost a year and was scheduled to have surgery when the day before the surgery I decided not to go through with it but to try again to heal myself. A friend mentioned that I might try vitamin E since that is a healing agent. I went to the health food store here in Las Vegas and came across Key E suppositories made by Carlson Co. Between using them and taking metamucil every night, I have actually healed a fissure that the doctor said couldn't be done without surgery. I attribute it to the Key E suppositories so I'm passing the information along to anyone who has been and is suffering from anal fissures. It REALLY WORKED.

Key E suppositories info and now using Nitro.

Dear Jack, I've been meaning to update what I wrote about the Key E suppositories. At the time I wrote to you, I had been using them and I felt as though I was healed. Unfortunately, the fissure recurred and I was able to get my doctor here to prescribe the nitroglycerin ointment according to Dr. Gorfine's instuctions. I've been using that for almost 2 months and I feel that it is definitely working. I've been in touch with Dr. Gorfine through e-mail and he truly is a fantastic individual. He has been advising me through this process. I also use the Key E as he said they can't do any harm. I do believe the E definitely has a healing effect although now I'm not certain whether they will heal a deep fissure such as I have. I would not hesitate to recommend them. You can buy them at any health food store. Here is their adress: Carlson Division of J.R. Carlson Laboratories, Inc., Arlington Hts., IL 60004-1985. I don't have a phone # for them. Hope this helps. I definitely recommend Dr. Gorfine's treatment.

Nitro worked

Dear Jack, I want to update my comments re: anal fissure. The vitamin E suppositories appeared to work. They did have a soothing effect, but unfortunately they didn't heal the fissure as I thought. Maybe they would heal a fissure not as deep as mine was. Anyway, I wrote to Dr. Gorfine and got started on nitroglycerin ointment therapy and that plus stool softeners and metamucil is doing the job. I've been using the NTG since April 28th and as I told Dr. Gorfine I feel as though my fissure is 99% healed. My life is getting back to normal finally. Dr. Gorfine told me that with a fissure as deep as I described mine was and since I had it for over a year, that it could take from 3 to 8 months to heal. I was very diligent in using the NTG and I works. I'm very grateful to Dr. Gorfine for all his help during this time. I still keep him updated. I told him that if I ever had to have the surgery, I would come to New York and have him do it. He is very supportive while you are using the NTG. That's what I wanted to tell everyone who is suffering, and believe me I suffered for over a year with this. Thanks

Subject: Helped me

I found your page very helpful. Got good ideas on what to do to help myself heal an anal fissure I have had since last May. I was scheduled to have surgery on it in Dec. but chickened out the day before the surgery and decided I would give it one more try to heal it without surgery. If anyone is interested, I discovered a vitamin E suppository (non laxative) in the vitamin section of a health food store. These have really been fantastic in the healing process. In addition, I take metamucil every day and drink at least 6-8 glasses of water a day. I also eat more fruit and vegetables. The vitamin E suppositories have made a big difference. I hope this has been of some help to others who are suffering with this.
